Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the governments demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.
But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.

Absolutely Loved. It. Before this year, I've been really hesitant about reading dystopian novels, but with all of the great books I have read pertaining to this genre I wont hesitate again. Delirium had me absorbed, with every flip of the page, I couldn't help but feel like only a minute had gone by. When in fact, hours had passed and I was almost done with the book.

I really enjoyed reading about Lena, she had qualities that reminded me of myself. She's nearly 18, a definite rule follower and just trying to get through life until she could undergo the procedure that would change her life and allow her to be happy. Now, I don't ever have to go through the things Lena did, but I feel like I can agree with her decisions, making the book all the right more enjoyable.

Lauren Oliver takes your regular love story and makes it even better. We get to see the obstacles in life when not only do your parents/ guardian not accept your relationship with the person you love, but when the whole country is against it. It's such a unique story full of love and sacrifices. I can't wait to read the next book because their are some questions that I need answered.

Now if you enjoy a good love story and don't mind reading dystopia, then this is a must read!

Great review! Everyone seems to love this book, but every time I try to read it, I just can't get into it. I should probably give it another go :)
